1. Petition - The lowest form of Prayer.
2. Intercession - Prayers to others towards oneself.
3. Penitence - A very deep penitence to oneself of asking forgiveness.
4. Thanksgiving - Give thanks to God.
5. Adoration - The Highest way of Prayer.

5 Parts of Lord's Prayer

1. Preface : Our Father in Heaven,
2. First Petition : Holy be your Name;

Duties:
  • We have to Adore GOD 
  • Reverent Filial Awe 
  • To Loving GOD

3. Second Petition : Your Kingdom come,
       "Kingdom"
  • The Church 
  • Personal Friendship with GOD 
  • State of Eternal Bliss and Glory

4. Third Petition : Your will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.

5. Fourth Petition : Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

CHRISTIAN CYCLE


Season 1
: Advent (The Coming of Christ)
Came from Latin word "Advenire" - Refers to the Messiah or Emmanuel means "God is with Us". It is also the commemoration of Birth of Christ. Looking forward to the second coming of Christ.

Season 2: Christmastide (Christ Birth)
* Spirit of Humility
* Spirit of Gratefulness
* Spirit of Joy
* Spirit of Celebration

Season 3 : Epiphany (Time after Epiphany)
Refers to the Divine Childhood of Christ
Focuses on the public ministry of Jesus Christ
(Celebrated on January 6 to January 14)

EASTER CYCLE


Season 4 : The Septuagesima
It refers to the number 70. A Babylonian Exile for 70 years.
Celebrated on the day before Ash Wednesday (2 weeks and 4 days)

 Season 5: Lent
Known as quadragesima means 40 years. It referring to 40 days and nights of suffering of Jesus Christ after Baptism. It is also called as the Season of Passion. 

Season 6: Paschal Tide (Easter Tide)
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ and it is consider as the highest feast that the church would celebrated.

Season 7: The Time after Pentecost
The descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. This is also comemorate Christ the king of kings. It will last to Advent Sunday.

LITURGICAL COLORS

White - Purity, Joy and Victory. It is used on the Easter and Christmas instead of White they are also using Gold in Solemn Celebration.

Red - It symbolizes the color of the blood. The mass of the passion of Christ. Red used for the feast of the apostles and Evangelist. It is used also in the celebration of Holy Spirit and Sacrament of Confirmation.

Green - It symbolizes a Life and Hope and it is used on the ordinary time.

Purple - Used during the season of Advent.

Rose - Used during the 4th week of Advent.

  • Good Friday - He put to death to fulfill the Old Testament Law

  • All Souls - We pray for those who are awaiting their Triumph
  • Last Sunday in Time After Pentecost - He will come to Judge the World (Symbolizes the Apocalypse)
